About LanCon

LanCon was founded in 2008 by second generation builder, Blake Lanham. LanCon was born from a passion to not only create beautiful homes, but to create them with a team that loves their work and gets a kick out of helping people realise their dreams.

Blake believed there was a gap in the market for a renovation and construction company who truly sticks to their budget. Nine times out of ten, residential projects go over budget because they lack careful consideration and project management. As a result, one thing has always remained the same at LanCon: down-to-earth, honest conversations.

Meet Blake – Our Managing Director

If you ask Blake what his plans were from childhood he would say that he always wanted to own a business – but being a builder wasn’t always on the list.  Blake’s father spent much of his life renovating and designing homes and usually had him onsite with him cleaning, moving materials and eventually building.  Blake studied Business, Project Management and, in time Construction Management; but all before working in a tough commercial construction industry which made him realise his true desire was to create a business that put people first and supported staff to reach their potential.

Blake has led LanCon through 12 years of building family homes and has worked with his team on over 200 dwellings. A large volume of these homes being created through property development, many of which Blake has either run or guided clients to the projects completion.

This experience has helped shape the way LanCon has grown to better support all of our clients from initial land purchase, through design and approvals and of course construction.

Blake’s primary focus has always been ensuring the support of his staff to deliver the best outcome possible for his clients. Blake’s knowledge of construction, business, property development and even personal development is something he is always willing to share.

Meet Melanie – Director & Client Liaison Officer

Melanie was 16 years a primary school teacher and a great one at that before her journey changed with children and the growth of LanCon.  The daughter of a career teacher and a Mining Project Manager Designer Mel has been raised to very high standards, has an incredible work ethic and an eye for detail that makes her one of a kind.

Her role within LanCon has gone where required over the years from financial controller to operations and now as Director and Manager of Build Experience ensuring our clients have the best guidance from someone that understands every part of the build process.  As a working mum of two little boys Mel understands the needs of families within the home plus has helped dozens and dozens of families build their dream homes to completion.

Mel has a remarkable knowledge of building materials and finishes of all levels enabling her to help clients achieve the best outcome with the smallest cost possible.  Clients and builds aside Melanie has a very rare ability to master understanding of detailed business and construction principles and consistently demonstrates this which has assured the company’s success and continues to define her as a leader within the building industry.
